Flextronics San Carlos provides a wide variety of plating processes to meet the most demanding requirements, and we partner with our customers to develop processes optimized for new applications. We specialize in plating difficult materials such as Nitinol, titanium, refractory metals and rare-earth magnets as well as various alloys of aluminum, copper, steel and stainless steel.
OptiGold : Flextronics proprietary OptiGold process enables 98% plus IR reflectivity. The hard gold coating is 99.9% pure, exceptionally fine grained, and free of organic brighteners. This durable coating can be applied over our extremely non-porous and corrosion-resistant OptiNickel undercoating to provide exceptional longevity and corrosion resistance.
OptiNickel : Our OptiNickel process achieves a consistent deposit thickness over threads and other complex geometries with over 1000 hours salt spray resistance. The coating is heat treatable up to Rockwell C68 with wear resistance equivalent to hard chromium.
OptiSilver : Our OptiSilver process deposits coatings with 98.5% plus IR reflectivity, low emissivity, and excellent visible reflectivity. OptiSilver protects against tarnish from chlorides, sulfides and oxides and provides excellent consistency on irregular surfaces.
